BIOS:
David Mort: (Artistic Director) : David grew up outside of Dayton, OH. From an early age he was fascinated by the work of the Jim Henson Company and watched every puppet related thing he could get his hands on. Throughout high school and collage David performed as an actor and musician. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Wright State University in 2003 and moved to Chicago shortly after to pursue a career as an actor. It was in Chicago that David began to learn the craft of puppet building. In 2008 David and his family moved to Eugene, OR and he began working in the administrative side of theatre. In 2011 he was hired to build a cast of 31 puppets for for a local theatre's production of the smash hit musical, Avenue Q. After working with a small group of extremely talented artists David decided to form No Strings Puppetworks.
Angele Mort (Executive Producer & Lead Writer on The Letter Z): grew up living all over Canada and the US. Angele attended high school in Ohio and college at Wright State university, studying costume design and construction. Over the course of six years Angele worked on many productions as a stitcher, Head of Wardrobe Crew and designer for both stage and film. In 2008 she began working on her first novel and over the next few years learned the art of writing, honing her craft in the Fantasy and Science Fiction genre. In the spring of 2014 her first novel in the Evaria series, A Raven's Flight, will be published and available on Amazon.com. Visit Angele's website at angelemort.com
Ross Piercey (Executive Producer & Composer on The Letter Z):is
an artist, painter, and musician. His interests vary widely, including
everything from computer science to ancient, Japanese block carvings. In 2011, Ross adopted the stage persona Skellytone,
creating a melodic style of hip-hop
focusing on lyricism, vocal performance and content. Dealing with dark subjects
such as depression, malaise and inner contemplation, Skellytone is at once
complex and brooding yet accessible. Influences range all the way from a
personal background in alternative metal to punk and hip-hop.
Amy Dunn (Puppet Construction & Design): Having worked for years as a scenic designer, carpenter, and painter for theatre, Amy is thrilled to be delving into the world of puppet building as a member of the No Strings Puppetworks team. A love for lumber and saws will always have a place in her heart, but luckily, foam and fleece are soft and smushy, so there's room in there for those, too.
Tim Dunn (Puppet Construction & Design):has been involved in puppet building since helping out on a production of Avenue Q in 2011, but has loved puppets since Rolf inspired him to love rock n roll as a child. When he isn't building puppets for No Strings Puppetworks, he builds sets for several theatres in his hometown of Eugene, Oregon, or is helping move the Canadian horse circus, Cavalia, around the globe.
